Why do people switch?

Transistor is a compelling alternative to Simplecast because:

  • You can host multiple podcasts on one account at no additional cost

  • You can invite unlimited team members to collaborate on your shows

  • All plans have access to advanced analytics

By contrast, Simplecast charges creators for each additional show in their account, and shows can only have two team members. Advanced analytics, which come as standard with Transistor, are not available on their base plan.

Feature Comparison

Simplecast offers the basics in terms of podcast websites, embed players, as well as limited analytics and team collaboration. Transistor makes advanced analytics available on all plans, allows for unlimited team members to help manage your many shows, and provides podcast websites and embed players for all your shows.

Although Simplecast starts its pricing at $15/month, if you need analytics such as episode comparisons, location data, app and browser analytics, and listener reports, you'll need to spend $35/month for these industry standard metrics that are already included in Transistor's $19/month Starter plan.

Transistor also supports fully private podcasts, whereby individual subscribers each receive their own feed for a show. In this way, analytics can be gathered for individual subscribers and access to the show can be controlled. Simplecast only supports making episodes within a single feed private, which then have to be exposed for public sharing.

Last, but not least, Transistor offers live customer support, staffed by real people, to assist creators when and where they need it, whereas Simplecast replies to customers by email only.

In 15 years as a small business owner and podcaster, I have worked with a lot of vendors and software services. But I have never worked with a company that is as genuinely supportive and dedicated to their customer success as Transistor.fm.

I am repeatedly astonished by the above-and-beyond customer care I've received from every member of the team. I recommend Transistor.fm to every podcaster (and would-be-podcaster) I talk to.
